OLD MILL (5.17.07)

Here stands the skeleton of the mill that gave Mill Valley, CA it's name. It was built in 1836 by one John Thomas Reed, an Irishman who was the first white guy to settle in Marin. After he cleared the surrounding area of trees, he subdivided it into irregular plots and the town of Mill Valley sprouted. (Photo of the mill from the 1890.)
