In the meantime, some factoids: only a quarter of a candle flame's energy is released as heat; it takes 4 percent of that heat to melt the wax; the light blue of a candle flame is the hottest, coming in at 1400-degrees celsius; and the red part of a flame is the coolest, registering about 800-degrees celsius.
