Scott’s writing assignments have taken him from Hawaii to Santos, Brazil to St. Petersburg, Russia and countless places in between. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of California at Berkeley, a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an unquenchable thirst for travel, adventure, and learning about the world, he has written about everything from hiking and kayaking the old gold routes across Panama’s isthmus to the discovery of rare folk art in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado.

As a former professional triathlete who has completed over 150 road and off-road triathlon, including the Hawaii Ironman and the world’s first off-road Ironman-distance triathlon, Scott also has a unique understanding and perspective of endurance sports, health and fitness, as well as the lifestyles and science that accompany these areas.

Combining an unflappable drive to always get the facts right with his ability to be poignant, humorous or deeply personal, Scott’s work has garnered accolades from a variety of clients,including Sunset Magazine, 5280, Adventure Sports, Inside Triathlon, xterraplanet.com, zootsports.com, and others.

His photographic experience stretches back to his days as a photographer for his high school yearbook, and he looks forward to expanding his work in this field with his Canon 1D Mark II. His photography has appeared in Sunset, Panorama (in-flight magazine for Panama’s Copa Airlines), Adventure Sports and Inside Triathlon.
