SCOTT SCHUMAKER

Bright Antenna Records/Writer/Photographer

While Scott is currently working on a kids' book, his focus is helping to run the indie record label, Bright Antenna. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bright Antenna artists currently include The Catholic Comb, Jimmy Gnecco, Magic Wands, Middle Class Rut, Spring Tigers and The Wombats. Not surprisingly, much of his photography now circles around these bands.

Previous to taking the proverbial "Nestea Plunge" into the music industry, his writing assignments had taken him from Hawaii to Santos, Brazil to St. Petersburg, Russia and countless places in between. Armed with an unquenchable thirst for travel, adventure, and learning about the world, he has written about everything from hiking and kayaking the old gold routes across Panama’s isthmus to the discovery of rare folk art. Combining an unflappable drive to always get the facts right with his ability to be poignant, humorous or deeply personal, Scott’s work garnered accolades from a variety of clients, including Sunset Magazine, 5280, Adventure Sports, Inside Triathlon, xterraplanet.com, zootsports.com, and others.

His photography has appeared in Sunset, Panorama (in-flight magazine for Panama’s Copa Airlines), Adventure Sports and Inside Triathlon.

At one time, Scott was also a professional triathlete who completed over 150 road and off-road triathlon, including the Hawaii Ironman and the world’s first off-road Ironman-distance triathlon.
